Akron Rain Barrel Program

The City of Akron has teamed up with the Summit Soil & Water Conservation District to provide residents with rain barrels as part of the Akron Waterways Renewed! program.

The City began with 200 rain barrels available for the summer of 2017. Rain barrels can help residents reduce their water and sewer bills, and decrease the stress placed on the City's sewer infrastructure during heavy rain events.

To receive a rain barrel, residents must attend a workshop. The workshop includes information about the barrels, as well as a demonstration on how to install them to existing spouting.

Rain barrels are available to Akron residents only, and are limited to one per household.
